The Mercedes-Benz SL is a roadster manufactured by Mercedes since 1954. The designation SL derives from the German Sport Leicht, or Sport Light – (how an almost two ton heavy car can be referred to as “Light” is still a mystery to me) The SL55AMG is being labeled one of a classic – even AMG in Affalterbach, Germany say so – one of their best ever! This models baureihe is R230 with start of production in 2002 and ending in 2008 and features a 5.4 L AMG Supercharged V8 engine. The one I have is from 2003; black in color and a real beast – taking your breath … and your money away! …… but if you first have been intrigued by these cars with its refined technique and it's seductive lines there’s no way back ……… so be aware - now your have been warned!
PARTS
I have been collecting spare parts and accessories for many years – many of which I will never use myself – I know that now and I guess I knew it when I bought them. I have a hard time turning down fine offers when they present themselves. On this site you can always see the latest of what I’m working with. It will be both big and small things and it does not have to be “new” in time since “new” is relative – also these cars are for many years out of production so what is "new" to me could be an old classic for you and revers.
DO IT YOURSELF
This is not DIY’s for standard maintenance and repairs but only for own invention and tuning beyond any acknowledgement of Mercedes Benz. In other words this is know-how and experience collected by other enthusiast during long and painful testing with disastrous breakdowns which in the end had been overcome due to the pure will of demanding success – efforts that finally have been crowned with success.
