…. and what is Ragnarok exactly?

 

Ragnarok in Germanic and Scandinavian religion denotes a series of events that will lead to Armageddon. It will be preceded by a series of natural disasters, culminating in a Fimbul Winter, which will last for three years in a row.  Then there will be fought a huge battle between the Gods on one side and the Giants with the Chaos Monsters on the other. Most of the fighters/combatants will die, including the major gods.

The battle will be completed by a worldwide fire and then earth will sink into the ocean. A new and fresh earth will then rise up, populated by the few survivors of the God’s genera and a human couple.
