MY 82 MM. THROTTLE BODY BUILD

In EPC called a SLIDE - Bosch number 0280750 183.
The throttle body cannot be order from Bosch but only be bought as new for about 800€ at the MB dealer and it comes whiteout cable and the cap (rubber cap for water protection)
This one I picked-up at eBay for around 400€ - brand new.
The 82 mm. throttle body with part number A273 141 03 25

Here the throttle body is seen with cap at the side. This cap I took from my original throttle body - it is glued onto the side and I had a very hard time to get it off. The glue makes it watertight and the thick rubber protects the delicate electronic. You can choose if you want it on or not.

Pipe line A113 140 04 12
This is my original pipe line which I will adjust so the building measure will be exactly the same – that will say I will compensate for the extra height this new adaptor plate gives.

I will use a 10 mm. aluminum plate and had this extra 10 mm. removed in a horizontal way from the pipe line and the reason for me going this extra mile is due to the tight fitting and delicate plastic taps on the right/left connecting hose to the housing.

The pipe line with the 10 mm. material removed in a horizontal way – next step will be to fabricate an aluminum plate that fits this “hole” and also will cover the throttle body.

Working on producing a new aluminum throttle adopter plate - first I’m making one in paper … lots of cut & past.

The final product ….. in paper thou …… and then off to transfer it into a real aluminum plate.

Transformation done! - 10 mm. aluminum plate cut by water.

Since my own welding machine is not able to weld aluminum so I had a friend doing it for me. Here’s the pipe line with the plate welded onto it. Now to drilling holes for fasting and centering of the gasket.
